Should I just burn my driver liscense?

I almost caused an accident today. I was at a light right so I thought it was green and it wasnt so I hit the gas and almost hit the person in front of me. Ha it was bad. Then I tried changing lanes when someone carwas in the other lane next to me but i didnt know they were there.

Could this be a learning experience?? Like shoulder checking is actually a necessary thing and paying attention to not only the light but what other people are doing is also a necessity.
