That's true, because in most states if they don't pay child support they end up in jail. I had a friend many years ago that ended up homeless because he couldn't afford his child support and regular rent. He lived in a homeless shelter for over a year and went to work and school. He paid his child support and rode the bus to his ex's home to get his vehicle every morning, where she lived with her new husband and their three kids.
