I live in Florida I've seen much more impressive lightning strikes but I love the colors in this pic! Awesome picture!

FurryFace · 61-69, M
not for a while now , but i'd be really nervous outside with lightening around
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Be careful. I know several people that have been struck by lightening.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I try to be. But there are times I just have to be out there with it.

That happened to us Comfi while we were camping. No well pump. It was time to stay in the nearby Hilton.

Good photo, one time lightening hit one of the student dorm 12-story towers and knocked some bricks off the top when I was working at the university...went outside at morning break looking for bits-o-brick.

Yeah, Furry, I usually stay indoors during lightening storms or if I hear loud thunder (if you can hear thunder you are close enough to get struck by lightening)...But I do love to see the lightening shows.
Yes, many times. The most memorable was a late night road trip. I was driving over some mountains and could see the lightning in the valley. It was quite a show.

Yes, and up close too. Right in front of me. Thankfully, I was inside a building watching it all unfold on a line of unsuspecting sailboat masts.

it was so scary, i called off from work. i was sure i was not going to make it home. it was that bad. i saw a bolt catch a tree on fire right behind my house and it hit my house and knocked out several appliances
akindheart · 61-69, F
yep. i have driven through storms where it is hitting on both sides of the road. i live in the lighting capital of the world.
JanDaw · 56-60, F
I may have done but not for many years, great image!!
Degbeme · 70-79, M
It was doing that here last night and I loved it. Love that picture though. ;)

SweetMae · 70-79, F
I would not want that to light my cigarette. I don't smoke .
Starlight016 · 36-40, F

I thought the Lord was returning when we lived near the swamps of Louisana!

Yes and its beautiful
comfi1 · 61-69, M
Not for a few years now. I would watch waiting for a bolt to hit a pylon and knock out the power.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
It is a professional picture. But the same storm hit our area
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Wow, cheroleepatti, I hope everyone was okay. I was next door when my uncle got hit by lightening. It was terrible.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I do think we are having weather extremes lately.

elVato · 46-50, M
Fuck yes.
About 3 weeks ago, driving to work.
and the bolts would linger, almost unnaturally long.
never seen that before in my 40+ years.
