@ozgirl512 You're painting everyone in the US with a brush of the vast minority. Europe is Europe and the entire culture and expectation of gov't is overall different, then you have individual country culture and quirks. America is America and we have our own quirks. It's like comparing apples and peaches.

@EllaDisenchanted I totally agree with you.. My point in posting is this.. If something is not working, why not try something different?

@ozgirl512 Because just because something doesn't work for some doesn't mean it's not working for others. Yes, other countries might have a better system for their people but it's not going to be perfect either and plenty will slip through those cracks.

In the end people only see the state of other countries through the lens of second, third and fourth hand knowledge. It's like me trying to question how Australia runs things when all I've seen about it is sensational news and Crocodile Dundee.

@EllaDisenchanted tbh we often run things badly here.. And I'll admit that we have a long way to go... But imagine this, rather than an arms race, wouldn't it be great if countries strove to top that list each year

@ozgirl512 It would be nice if people in the right places could be less childish and more honest in getting things done. At the same time, people are people no matter what title. I put more hope in the common man willing to work hard and actually has his ear to the ground as far as actual change than politicians that all work towards the same end.

@ozgirl512 I don't know, lately I've been laid back with politics. i don't know why but I've become more optimistic on it all lately.

Things work out in the end one way or another.
