So complimenting someone is objectifying??

Two people I know gave a compliment to two different women, saying they looked pretty. Now they have come back saying you shouldn't objectify women. wtf is going on with women these days? Why do you want to feel victimised? For attention? They need to grow up and stop being cry babies.
