Following procedure or was there a lack of one ?
okaybut · 56-60, M
@Picklebobble2 He was fired. It was cowardliness.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
A total of four of them VIOLATED procedure. @Picklebobble2
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@okaybut Lot of political heat at the moment. Maybe firing him was the safest way of keeping him out the way.

@jackjjackson And this is why armed resource officers is not the answer.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
......any chance this is politically expedient ?
Easier to blame security than admit the place was unsafe. Even with 'security' in it ??

All of them should be prosecuted. @Picklebobble2
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Perhaps. However I did qualify that by stating that the security forces should be properly trained. The system failed here. @CopperCicada

@jackjjackson Yeah maybe. But you know how this stuff goes !
Lotta politicians feeling the heat; few of them up for mid-terms shortly; Lot of angry parents and staff. WORLD media local/national and international covering it.
I mean is it in their job description to go into a place where a shooter is ??

Written nationwide police protocol following Columbine. Yes they should have immediately engaged the shooter. @Picklebobble2
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson ......there's a nationwide police protocol that says 'security' (whatever that actually means) has to engage an active shooter ???
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Yep @Picklebobble2
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson Haven't heard anything quite so stupid in ages !!
Great 'Absolved of all responsibility' clause for the cops !

Not at all. It’s logical. The sooner the shooter is engaged the sooner victims stop getting shot. @Picklebobble2
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson right.....THAT bit i get. But are these guys actually trained in engaging an active shooter ??
Surely you'd need to be a police officer or in the armed forces to get that kind of training ??
