Scriptures introduce man as a created being. In Genesis Truth is stated, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” The origin of man has long been the subject of human speculation. But in spite of all that has been done scientifically and otherwise, no one has ever come up with a better explanation than creation for the origin of man.

The problem with evolution, however, is that it is a theory that has yet to be proved
@SW-User My hat is off to you.

@SW-User but the book has been proved?? 🤔

@newbie
With all the advantages of modern science, it has never been possible to change one species into another; a dog never becomes a cat; a plant never becomes a fish; and a tree never becomes a cow. In other words, a tree remains a tree though it may vary in its structure and leaf design and new kinds of trees can be formed, but the fact is that we have never been able by any scientific process to change one species into another.

Evolution has no solution for the origin of life. Science never has been able to produce life out of that which was not life.

@SW-User You obviously don't understand the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection. For a start, it doesn't say anything like what you claim. Much of it has been observed and proven, that's why it's called a theory and not just a hypothesis.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@newbie There is no independent evidence to support the creation myth.
newbie · 31-35, F
@SW-User that was a long post - unfortunately it isnt related to my question at all.

if you forgot already it was:
but the book has been proved?? 🤔
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@newbie Another pertinent question is "Where did 'god' come from?" Any answer to that could also apply to the universe and life, thus rendering the idea of 'god' redundant.

@suzie1960 just waiting for johnny to explain the proof for his book 🤓
SW-User
The Bible remains the simple and effective and clear explanation of how man was created.

No development in evolution could ever take an animal and produce in it that which corresponds to the image of God. @suzie1960

@SW-User sorry - you were claiming lack of proof for other theories - i don't know about that.

i was just then naturally expecting you to be able to provide proof of your theory (which i understood to be something like: "Genesis is Truth"?). could you please explain the proof? 🤓
SW-User
@suzie1960 where did god come from?
Ha...

The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that God came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?”
SW-User
@newbie explain the proof? Im saying it has yet to be proved!
newbie · 31-35, F
@SW-User so what makes your book any more true than any other ideas about where people come from? sorry now you got me confused about your point?

are they then all equally believable?
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@SW-User The question is quite reasonable, you just don't have an answer. If your god didn't have to come from anywhere in order to exist, then the same can be said of the Universe. Your god is superfluous to requirements.

From your reply to @newbie, I infer you accept there is no proof to support your claims that Genesis is "the truth".
SW-User
@newbie its apparent... We have
Different beliefs ,
Biblical through scriptures...
Evolution through
Science,
newbie · 31-35, F
@SW-User so do you mean to say all beliefs are equally true and valid?

i have read about some people that think a spaghetti haired alien created earth in a giant teapot! personally i find that difficult to believe ... 🤔
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@newbie You're thinking of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the deity of the Pastafarians. Like Russell's Teapot, we know It exists because there is no proof that it doesn't. ;)
SW-User
@suzie1960 Genesis is "the truth". In biblical scripture..
SW-User
@newbie now thats funny... A tea pot?
newbie · 31-35, F
@SW-User again you avoid my rather simple question... i repeat it then:
so do you mean to say all beliefs are equally true and valid?
SW-User
I responded to that question@newbie
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@SW-User Genesis is just a story, there is no evidence it's "the truth". Simply calling it "the truth" doesn't change that fact. One could just as well say the Harry Potter stories are "the truth" - there is just as much evidence to support that claim.
newbie · 31-35, F
@SW-User no you didnt - you said a tea pot was funny! which it is...

but you didnt say whether you find all beliefs to be equally true and valid? I'm trying to figure out your original point and so far your explanations are very piecemeal and hard to make full sense of... 🤔
SW-User
@suzie1960 omg... Thats everything i been saying... Theory not fact
