Are you a dog or a cat person?

There's a mystery and independence in cats that I admire. As I say, I like dogs but I feel a deeper connection to cats. Always have.

@Rambler how do you connect to a cat?

I don't know how to say it. I just feel like I get them. I've always had a cat or two in my house since I was a little kid. Also barn cats. I like the way they can take care of themselves if they want to.

@Rambler i respect your opinion of course, but it just sounds the opposite of connecting when you emphasize their total independence and care for you?

Understanding is probably a better description than connection.
