@puck61 Well Dad use to beat me for fighting ,since Mom was over 400 lbs before she has a complete gastric bypass surgery ,,so kids loved to talk trash about my Mom and I would kick their butts ,,but enough trips to the school over fighting he just said enough was enough ,if I wanted to fight I could fight him ,,and he made his point a few times ,,so I quit fighting ,even defending myself .
Mom was either running off to meet some guy and leave us alone ,or she was beating the crap out of me over nothing ,,and I had already kicked the crap out of the worst of the bullies ,with exception of an Indian boy ,He hit like a train
But I never run ,but I just stood there begging them to let me be ,,even told them I was on probation and I was not going to Juvie over them ,but I was afraid of Dad not any of them ..
But 17 ,first night home from boot camp and my brothers came in beat up
still in my dress blues ,I start to the door ,Dad said what have I told you ?
"You said when I was big enough ,old enough and ugly enough to get out of your home I could do as I please ,well Dad I respect you ,so I have refrained a long time ,even when I did not live under your roof ,but its not ending
I am leaving in 10 days to go to my duty station ,I can go early if need be ,but I am going to kick some ass ,He said let me get my shirt ,,I'm going with ya .
The Cops know it was a long time coming ,so they did not even try to stop me when they showed up .
And Dad and I kicked butt ,
Finally the Chief of Police says "With respect from one uniform to another ,will you please stop hitting and kicking people now "?
They hauled us all in ,wrote it up as self defense and let us go .
My Uncle was the Mayor and we were outnumbers 20 to 2 ,
Cowards were screaming for more back up LOL
the people talked about that one for quite some time ,,
we had no more bully problems
My middle brother now at 57 ,He will kill ya if you cross him
The youngest killed himself ,but he grew up to be big boy
He favored Eddy Montgomery a lot ,but he was itching to shoot someone with his deer rifles ,people were smart enough not to push him .
He finally shot himself in the head ,but both of my brothers refereed to that night as the time "We had to straighten the Hill out "
they had noting to do with it ,Dad and I dealt with that ourselves
My Dad was a man ,not many wanted to mess with him either ,,
But the kindest ,most forgiving man you ever met Puck ,,
I didn't know anyone who would not tell me my Dad was a great man ,,
I am proud now that I have finally grown up I was his son
I disrespected him for years ,thinking I was better at everything then he was
I was a fool ,everything he owned was paid for and he worried about noting .
Now I am finally like him ,I wish I had taken his words of wisdom alot sooner
He was a very wise man ,and he could fix anything ,I get my mechanical gifts from him I am sure ,,have a good one Brother ,hope all is well
