Do you think its weird to want to give the school counselor i used to talk to a "life update?

I talked to her like may of last year. I ran into her once since then. She told me to drop by or come talk to her. I haven't done so. We students are always told to be professional etc so do you think its ok to tell counselor an update? Like saying im okay, things are better or whatever?🤔
