Two hair complaints.
One: gray hair inside my nose. It's dark in there, so the white hairs really shine in there.
Two: ear hair. And I'm not talking the ones in the usual spot. I mean, I've gotta shave around the entire perimeter of the ear.

You know you are old when you go to sleep feeling great and wake up injured!!
SweetMae · 70-79, F
As long as you don't forget the purpose of an object you are doing good. It's when you try to brush your hair with a fork that you have problems.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
You know you got that fork out of the refrigerator , right?
carpediem · 61-69, M
The getting older part....
carpediem · 61-69, M
Agree with SweetMae. Mental attitude overcomes age related health issues. I am more active than people I know who are 15 years younger.

Mostly my eyes I think !
I wear glasses probably ten hours a day these days.
So much paperwork and PC screen time it can't be avoided!

*discreetly placing that fork back in the linen closet where it belongs*

@duh111 It helps to focus on the positive.

My mom. It was so sad.

when you're 20. 35 or 47 and you forget something you think, well you're busy, it happens, but when you're over 60 and you forget something you might start to wonder if it's the start of dementia

That's hard to tell for me. I have the dubious advantage of having had a metabolic disorder bring down my physique to just below survivable standards in a very short time, and that enabled me to do nothing but build up again over the past ten years. Things that are less than they were before (like needing more motivation to keep up concentration) can easily be blamed on that too, so I don't know what's improving or what has been lost in different ways. I only see myself getting better on all levels. In a weird way that scary period back then could be seen as an advantage to how I spent my 40s.
silkandlace · 46-50, M
@Sweet, oh no, I'm sorry, i thought you were making a funny on your own behalf; that IS sad.... :-(
Kumbayakid · 61-69, M
Gee I love it! I get to blame everything I don't feel like doing on aging.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
Health issues...The only really bad part of aging as far as I am concerned.
silkandlace · 46-50, M
The fact that i truly am aware that there IS an aging process.... :-(

So far nothing. I love to think that I'm still young 😊
Kumbayakid · 61-69, M
Actually I'm very active. I'm here aren't I?
Kumbayakid · 61-69, M

The degeneration of my body. I have a hard time going for walks, cannot do anything overly physical (even jogging is off limits.) And while I've passed all eye exams, my eyes are too sensitive to light to allow me to read as much as I'd like.

All of it sucks

@Sweet... you know... forget it, I forgot what I was going to say. But I do use my forks for their intended purpose. And if I could recall what that was, I'd tell you.
silkandlace · 46-50, M
Lol@Dont, that's one of the major things now; i know I'm not old, but my go-to line is, "i just don't feel like i did when i was 25"
SweetMae · 70-79, F
A little of both. She smiled brightly when I told it was okay to have dementia. You won't remember what you forgot.
Kumbayakid · 61-69, M
Yes, I KNOW where it was. Some people! I left the socks. They looked comfy next to the lettuce.
elVato · 46-50, M
after 40 it's all shit.
everyone over 40 knows it, any that deny it are complete BS artists.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
That is true. I am more active than my children.
silkandlace · 46-50, M
@Sweet, NO WAY!!! LOL

@Kumbaykid - Haha c'mon. Aging starts from day 1 on this planet. It's about how how feel.
