Jigsaws are my go to if boredom starts to rear it's head. I enjoy completing 1000 and 2000 piece Jigsaws. Crosswords are great as well. Plus your vocabulary will improve exponentially. (rapidly) Gardening passes the hours and pleasure can be gained from enjoying the fruits of your labour.

@SW-User Here in Aussie land we have a Crossword Book called Mr Wisdom's Whoppers. 28, 400 plus clues. I can do one crossword in 45 minutes. So many words in my head.
I am no longer discombobulated when wanting to express myself in prose.😃
