How do you feel about the way schools often seek to control how girls dress

on the basis that it is just too distracting for the boys?

Personally i feel that objectifies young women and gives young men too little credit.
Just another example of women's bodies being considered offensive or inappropriate.

If you want to tell girls that they can't show their shoulders or belly or legs then you better make damn sure that the guys aren't allowed either.

For me you're at school to learn not be dressed to the nines or made up for a night out..and uniforms can stop the competitiveness that comes into play between the more privileged and under privileged kids as in designer wear..

@Celine I don't feel we need to make statements when going to school wearing skirts that for some here in the UK are mid thigh, it's unnecessary and like it or not it does make an impression..not in a good way either.

@Celine don't be ridiculous..you don't even know me and as a parent any respectful parent doesn't want to see their daughters going out of the house in skirts that look more like wide belts..you can dress it up in sexism all you like the fact is it has an affect..

@Celine Miniskirts are going out clothes and yoga pants are like pajamas. Not proper for school or work. School is like going to work and the clothes should be reflective of that.

@Celine well aren't yoga pants for yoga not school, you're there to learn not go on fashion parade...the issue is to learn not be more concerned about how you look..why do you need your shoulders and bra straps showing or seeing your knickers line through your yoga pants to learn math...😂😂

@Celine see you said it right there.."boys and girls will never stop trying to look good for each other", both sexes are going through puberty, hormones are racing and that is not the time or place to put it under even more pressure..again it's about learning and discipline the same thing we get from our parents so just deal with it..you have plenty of years to dress as you like and if you talk to these many girls in later years they regret many of their choices because of how they were perceived, you can't ignore it , it happens..

@Celine let's face it girls dress that way to get attention however you try and pull the "we should be able to dress how we like for ourselves" is utter bs..it's just how you said we will never stop trying to look good for each other..once we have the experience we realise what's important and its not how much flesh you show..and they are definitely not the kind of girls guys like to take home to meet their mother, just look at the surveys guys tell it how it is, those girls are the good time girls not the keepers.
