You're doing the common mistake in thinking that it would be anything like this life, this is to those who say they don't want to live again. All religions speak of a paradise, wherever we go or however it is that we get there, it's said to be much better than here. So think about that before you "hope" that you don't get there.

@MartinTheFirst So they have Wi-Fi?
popmol · 22-25, M
@MartinTheFirst but i'm okay with only living here. i actually find more peace in the idea of an infinite of nothingness where i would just not exist like before i was born.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@popmol Of course you do, because currently I can imagine that none of us are having any extremely happiness-filled lives.
popmol · 22-25, M
@MartinTheFirst i'm depressed so yes i'm not overly happy but that still has nothing to do with it. i thoguht this from way before i was depressed and when i was happy.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst Happiness can only be maintained for so long. It's a hormone induced sensation, and as with all naturally produced chemical in the body you eventually build up a tolerance. Dopamine I think it's called.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@popmol Of course that has to do with it, it completely shapes how you think about things. If you were completely happy and not depressed then I can ensure you that you would not be comfortable with the idea of not being around to feeling more of it.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Quizzical That's not how it works Quiz, as long as you don't use any drugs or have any health issues, your body should balance your dopamine levels out so that there are no too big of highs and dips.
popmol · 22-25, M
@MartinTheFirst no i would be. and eternity in paradise or just an end. humans are never great with infinite things. and a completely new world? i wouldn't like that anyway. and i'm autistic and that seems like something that doesn't fit in heaven will i become "normal" and will my depression disappear?
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@popmol You can't know what you like or don't like in this question, if there is a God and he can make you happy then no matter what you think about it when you're depressed, you will be made happy. Perhaps you'll be healed? I don't know much about autism, perhaps it's a personality trait.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst Oh, so I get a body again do I?

And God will MAKE us happy? As I am naturally a miserable bastard that surely means that I would no longer be ME. So what would be the point of it all anyway?
popmol · 22-25, M
@MartinTheFirst but this is me? my autism defines on how i react to life and if ou would take it out i'm not me?
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Quizzical Would it not be you or would it be a you with functioning dopamine levels? 🤔 Don't say that to the people who use medication... I know it sounds a bit scary with change even if it's a good change, but all change is scary.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@popmol Are you sure? What if that autism would slowly start disappearing in this life of yours, at the end of that would you still not be popmol? Your autism doesn't define you mate.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst My dopamine levels are fine. I genuinely like moaning, whinging, and being miserable. It's kinda my thing.

So ANY alteration to that would no longer be the true me that is sat here and now. It would be an altered me forced to fit in with everyone around me... That's practically fascism!
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Quizzical Haha.. you're stuck in your ways quiz, like a stubborn mule.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst And even given all of Eternity that will never change. I actually like who I am and I defy ANY person or God who would have me change to fit in with their idea of perfection.
popmol · 22-25, M
@MartinTheFirst it kinda does. it defines how i think how i react and some things that makes my personality. so it defines a lot of things in my life.

but an eternity of living in a bliss is scary to me
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Quizzical 🤔 well you are free to believe as you wish
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@popmol I'm sure that even after such a change you would still feel like yourself. After all it would still be your brain and your body.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst But if your version of events comes to pass I am either going to hell for being an unbeliever, or going to what I would consider another type of hell if I did believe. Literally damned if I do and damned if I don't!

Either way I think I would much rather have the infinite void of non-existence...
popmol · 22-25, M
@MartinTheFirst well no it would not be me with the same mindset it woudl be my soul so my soul becomes my body and an eternal drugs shot making me happy seems just a bit sick.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@popmol Haha it's nothing like a drug... Eternal happiness is what you recieve from removing all the evil and selfishness in this world that causes us to be sad and depressed.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst Stupidity depresses me... Are we getting rid of all the thick people too, or are they getting a brain upgrade?
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Quizzical Like i said, all evil and selfishness. What you said there is selfish and evil.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@MartinTheFirst Oh, so now I am going to be lobotomised as well to remove any negative thoughts.

This isn't heaven or paradise we are talking about here... It's an Orwellian Dystopia run by fascists Angels!
