This is so nice

Waking up to mom making breakfast ❤️❤️
SteelHands · 61-69, M
Having grown up between 55 and 71 and being blessed with what was back then already becoming an abnormal family life. Mom didn't start working until us kids were all capable of looking after ourselves.

My mom cooked breakfast most mornings. Except Sundays and holidays. That was when it was my neanderthal father's job to make breakfast.

I took it for granted that this was normal and conducted my early married life likewise.

I feel so cheated in life reading and hearing things like this bragging how great it is to be normal.

@SteelHands Um. I’m sorry? I mean I live in a different continent altogether away from home and I miss her cookings.

@iFaye No need to apologize. We all have to bear our own shortfalls in life and of course, "absence makes the heart grow fonder."

Enjoy it richly and thanks to remind. It reminded me of a few times visiting after I'd left home. It is nice. 🍽

Cherish those moments.

@iFaye They won't be around forever. Appreciate them. They aren't perfect, but most parents do the best they can with what they know.
