I never felt like that, lucky me, but I think you really need a professional help when you start feeling like this, cause it's like you cannot accept happiness in the world around you.
I had a boyfriend like this and I helped him a lot, but he needed to go under therapy. He enjoyed staying with me but he started acting badly with everybody except me.
I'm still friend with him and I feel very happy to see how he's grown up now.
