So guys, I heard in the news the other day that a man got five years of jail time for animal abuse

@ScrewThisImDone animals aren't children. If you can't counter my argument then politely stay quiet.

To many people, their pets are their children, and many people who do abuse animals also harm children.

Reality check: animals will never be people and shouldn't be treated as such. That wasn't the argument, so don't argue that.

When did I ever say they should be treated as people? I'm just of the mind that animal abusers should be punished for it.

I'm only quoting you. I am against animal abuse, I love animals myself. But five years is more than excessive. Sure, three to six months is okay and community service too, but at this rate, you'll get more time for abusing a dog than a child.

@ScrewThisImDone no, I never stated that. Some of these fucking idiots apparently think I do. I'm against animal abuse. It's sick to physically and/or mentally abuse a animal. But five years is simply too much.

A lot of people get like that when they feel really strongly about something, and like I said before, to a lot of people, pets pretty much are children.

Just like classless boars that let their emotions get the best of them. And it's funny because restaurant chains breed and mass murder animals almost everyday yet where's their collective outcry? Call it what you want, I'll call it hypocrisy
