I have a dilemma. I found out something about my dead grandpa, regarding my mom, from my granny the other day, so...

should I let my mom know about it? which might change her opinion a little bit about her beloved father. or should I just not say anything and leave the past be the past, since he's dead anyway, to leave her with a good memory of him.

Why would you even consider ruining her memory of him? Your granny apparently hasn't found it necessary, why would you? Another option, your granny did tell your mom, but still your mom has chosen to keep her good memories of him not to let the past that cannot be changed ruin it all.

@SapphicHeart I didn't even think of that, that she might already know of it. Or that my granny just keeps it in for a reason. That's so true. Just like 5thapprentice said, if anyone should tell my mom is my granny.

Yes.
