I'm feeling a little disillusioned at the moment. Any suggestions how to cheer myself up?

Plan on voting Democrat in 2020 and you will feel immediate and everlasting bliss and contentment throughout your life.

@swirlie I'm not American.

In that case, vote Liberal wherever it is you are from, whenever you get the chance to extend that vote and enjoy the economic progress your country will subsequently enjoy. But don't be like 61% of all Americans who never even got off their butts to vote in the last Presidential Election... Get up and get out there and exercise your well-earned Right to vote!

I always vote. Please don't preach or lecture on how I should, I am fit and able to make up my own mind and I do.

If you are fit and able to make up your own mind and IF in fact you do, then why are you feeling disillusioned at the moment?

Sounds to me like you are in a state of confusion when your response to me contradicts or at least undermines the intent of your own question.

"If"!? Do you realise just how condescending your reply came across? You presume too much. I can assure you I am fit and able! What an insult.
My feelings of disillusionment are personal and nothing whatsoever to do with politics.
"Sounds to me like..." I didn't contradict you at all, I just stated a fact.

I think you presume that I presume too much. Your answer to my post versus the content of your original question are contradictory to each other. You cannot have it both whys. Which way do you want to align reality for yourself? Please pick one.
