Do you give to beggars ?

I seen a beggar today so gave her all my money, well what i had on me. I googled if it was right thing to do because of drug problems etc, the first few pages advise against it , i was shocked really.

@katielass i googled how to help homeless and got round to the issue of money being used for bad harmful stuff.

@Scarfface Yes, I understand that. What I don't understand is why you had to google to figure that out. I mean you're not a kid, surely you are aware that most homeless people are either alcoholics or drug addicts or both. They don't want a roof over their head and they don't want a free meal, they want money so they can buy booze or drugs.

@katielass I use google a lot for opinions and views about all sorts, its a very good tool.
I dont think all beggars and homeless are frauds or addicts, its so easy to become homeless. A very large percentage of uk people are one paycheck away from being homeless .

@Scarfface Well, no one has said that all homeless people are alcoholics or drug addicts but most are. You can pretty well tell the difference between an addict and someone who ran out of luck.
