I seen a beggar today so gave her all my money, well what i had on me. I googled if it was right thing to do because of drug problems etc, the first few pages advise against it , i was shocked really.

In my opinion, truly homeless or needy people go get help. Shelters etc. They don't stand on corners. Lots of people standing on corners are not really homeless. Not ALL but some.
