Not all white people have white privilege.

Theres no such thing anymore when theyre out numbered i'd say its more hispanic privaledge now, everything available in spanish, all these funds available just for being hispanic from housing to education. I don't want to hear no more about this "white privilege" when whites have the least amount of freedom of speech, being real is now racist

i study sociology and social psych in university so i have a bit of a bias

i fully agree that institutional discrimination exists and i know that i am naturally at a slight social advantage (in terms of not being discriminated against by other people) because i'm white and educated

however i don't support people blaming white folks on the whole as if it's all their fault and they're consciously contributing to social injustice because they're all evil racists. it's not and they aren't. attacking people will never promote change.

Well a white guy runs down people with his truck and he goes to a five star ranch instead of prison. Then runs to mexico. And gets nothing. A minority does less and he gets life in prison.

My thoughts on “white privilege” is that I think many people view it in a way of gaining wealth or something of that sort simply because you’re white and that’s not necessarily the case in most situations, and I think that’s the reason why it’s extremely difficult to talk about because many white people dont feel powerful or as if they have privileges others don’t. For those who have privilege based on race, age, gender, sexual orientation it’s just normal whereas it maybe visible to someone who doesn’t gain from these privileges. For example white people in the United States are two to ten times more likely to get a housing loan than people of color. History books are mainly focused on white experience of history, there’s very little to none spoken of African American history or American Indian history, it wasn’t spoken about at all until I got into college and even then was brief. White privilege does exist but I think the extent to which someone has it varies on many things such as, age, gender, social economic status, sexual orientation, weight, and so on. I think it just goes unnoticed especially if one experiences it. I also think the extent on which someone has it has a lot to do with it being unnoticed as well.

Its a very easy thing to viscerally say, "What? White Privilege? None of that here, I worked hard my whole life". Its just missing all of the nuances that this term is really talking about.

Here is a good video that pretty quickly shows you. Its not about being white and therefore getting everything you ever wanted, its about how being a white male can distance you from things that can be devastating setbacks for many people.

White privilege, I am not sure, white is a social construct.
I suppose it applies, in North American and British socities.

The definition of "white" only meant north-western Europeans up until 1920s, really.

I dont think anyone can be privileged on a economic or social level for having a fairer skintone in this day and age. Particularly because your status is your income, not your ethnicity.

It exists, as much as people who take it for granted deny it. It’s not so much about being treated with more respect by shopkeepers, businesses, law enforcement, realtors, bankers, employers, healthcare providers, schools, although that is often how it manifests itself. It’s about having the luxury of not having to feel like you represent everyone who looks like you, of knowing that statistically if you live in a Western country, whoever is in charge is more likely to relate to you than not. And you can comfortably say, “my race doesn’t define me” and mean it, because no one else (who matters) is defining you by it, either.

Where to begin...if you're going to bitch about white privilege than I have a new word to add. Human privilege...We dragons when we showed ourselves were ruthlessly murdered for sport, just for our heads as trophies. I wouldn't mind dying if I was made into a meal...next are brown anoles...or any lizard and fishing...Humans use live lizards as fish bait sometimes and that's just painful when literally anything else can be used to catch a fish. Coyotes get killed constantly for living like they were made to. "muh deer" and "muh livestock" who cares...wolves are hated for being "canadian" or whatever crap. Don't you be talking about privilege when your species is the most damn privileged on the planet. You have no right to claim you're oppressed.

The majority of people in any given society will always make sure they have the upper hand in it, and treat themselves to better standards than any other groups, it just makes sense that they would do that if we take that back to tribalism.
