Is this a serious site?

I mean, I found this link on another website, I think it was the previous version of this, but I had the impression that there were a lot of "real topics" there, things to discuss etc, while here I only see a new random and stupid question every few seconds.
I joined the site cause I wanted to share and talk about things, but it's not seems the case... I don't know.
