Family advice

Hey so my 72 year old grand father called me today for like the second time ever and said that my brother and I were the only family members he have that will talk to him because he left my mother with her mother that almost let her die. Should I talk to him? I feel like there is a reason no one in my family talks to him but he seems really nice and my family on my mom's side is crazy anyways.🤔

I would judge for myself who he is ,many in my family disliked this one and that one and caused division ,
now at my age I have lost so many I would be lost without my kids and grandkids .
my grandson is his grandpa's boy he is 16 ,6'3" and not ashamed to tell anyone he is his grandpa's boy ,
you may be the sunshine is an otherwise dark life ,and who knows the peace maker .
Be careful just in case ,but be your own judge ,don't let anyone tell you who you can love ,especially when its family ,
My parents were not perfect parents ,but neither was I .
forgiveness goes a long long way ,I am so glad my kids forgave me ,
as a young man I really sucked as a Dad ,but I think I have made up for it when it counted ,I was a single Dad ,raising them alone as teens ,so I made sure they got educations ,got to go to college ,and today I still have their backs .
so had they shunned me over a few years I was lost ,we all would have missed out .
now my family ,even my ex and I are close

Sounds like you want to give it a shot. If he turns out to be an ass, you can always cut ties.

I would talk to him. If nothing else you can learn about his side of the family.

Well, if he asks for money, cut ties.

Thank you. I hope he is just trying to fix the mistakes he has made in his past.

Ok thanks. I defiantly won't give him handouts.
