Why people fake tan?

Is there perhaps less of a risk than actual tanning?

I'm in Africa and my skin starts to feel like it's burning, I think after around 10 minutes in the sun around midday.

Because the light from computer monitors leave me pasty and white

So they can mingle with the Taliban unnacosted..

It's a norm of beauty

So I can tan nude

because they think it's pretty and see it as putting on jewelry
