Keep your buildings your bricks and your metal Bridges give me Long Island any day
SW-User
@Jibby It doesn't look that long.

@SW-User that's just a little piece of it that's my playground sometimes the waves are up and I practically make it my second home surfing. I used to live in New York City I'll take Long Island any day. Man-made structures just get in my way of seeing nature

@Jibby Unfortunately the Island is getting taken over by people and building. They don’t call it the Long Island Distressway for nothing. Where do you surf? Long Beach?
Jibby · 56-60, C
@LyricalOne I did surf in Long Beach for years unfortunately my best friend and part-time business partner ended his own life I don't even want to look at Long Beach . Also 20 kukes taking off on one wave... I also do Robert Moses which is right where I live.. I got out to Smith Point which is where I grew up near.. believe it or not every few years it's nothing but Sandbar as far as you could see both ways plenty of room for your own little spot.. used to do Montauk Ditch Plains specifically but Gwyneth Paltrow decided to go out there once and now it looks like Jones Beach all the fat ladies laid out with their kids jamming the water

@Jibby Sorry to hear about your friend. My dad lived on Shore Road for awhile. Smith Point was one of my old stomping grounds. Grew up in Port Jeff and that was always a nice outing. Too bad Gweneth ruined that spot in Montauk. Staying out in Montauk always felt like a mini-vacation.

@LyricalOne I'll go to Port Jeff all the time me and the missus have a house in Stony Brook and we go to my Cottage part-time I live on the South Shore cuz I need Ocean Parkway to get to my jobs in Nassau County it's like a Wormhole wouldn't you agree? Thank you for your kind words about my friend that man had everything to live for he just had a lot of issues that he was born with. I used to tell him you live right on the ocean how could you ever not be in a good mood. But he wasn't made for this world he was just too intelligent and eccentric. I was going to danford's on the weekends towards the end of summer for those super weak cocktails at $10 a piece... And you know what I love every minute of it I used to work at a laboratory not far from there part time

@LyricalOne where do you live now
LyricalOne · F
@Jibby Haven’t been to Danford’s in forever but I loved sitting in that dining room and looking out over the harbor. Stony Brook is great. Got my BA from SUNY. And when I first got my driver’s license, I used to love taking rides from Port Jeff up the hill into the old town of Stony Brook and up through Old Field. Or sometimes the other way, past the duck pond, to St. James and Smithtown through the back roads. I miss it. I live in PA now. Did it for love, long story. But I’ll always be a New Yorker. You can take the girl out of NY but you can never take NY out of the girl. 🙂
My parents live in Rockville Centre btw. Nassau County is sooo congested!
