I simply settle for "Lol" when I have nothing better to say.

While texting, of course.
How weird it would be to actually use the acronym as a word while talking face to face.

I hate when people use it when what they’re saying is not even funny. Such as when someone says something like “I have lots of homework to do, lol”. It’s like what the hell is funny about that?
