Do you pity the poor or do you not care?

Yes, I do pity the poor, and if I had my way I would make the rich pay more taxes to fund a system that would help the poor, a sort of modern-day Robin Hood scheme.

You get poor people who are poor because off circumstances beyond their control and they try their best to get out off their situation, those I have the greatest admiration for and I feel very sorry for them. Those who are poor because off their own doing and do nothing to help themselves I have no sympathy for.

Let them eat cake. Chocolate cake.

I think that it's way easier to be sympathetic to people who are desperate or disadvantaged that you meet individually than it is to be sympathetic to something as faceless as "The People" or "The Poor".

I do care, as long as they keep their dignity at least, beggars are not my friends.
