The worst thing internet has taught to people?

I think it taught people that they can behave as assholes and they can get away with it.
No offense, I am asking this to people over 30, cause teens don't even know there was a life before internet.

It has made everything too readily available and desensitized us. It's tainted and devalued true romance, intimacy, subtlety and mystery. No filters or dignity, it's all splatted out there. It's created an illusion bubble for many to live in. Instead of dealing with the marriages/relationships, etc.. many come on-line to be placated or to fulfill "whatever" in instant gratification. There are Loads of studies done on the affects of too much time spent in cyber and they are not positive! It's changing our brains. Google it. 🤕😬

We have come far in the way of technology and took steps backwards in the way of intelligent growth, individual critical thinking, superficiality and self absorption.

@Highway It's a red ribbon. My own little style. I do have a couple true chokers though. 😏

@Magenta Your own little style is very.. mm.. stimulating ☺

The worst thing it's taught people is that although there is unlimited information on just about everything, it's not all necessarily factual !
And that people will still lie and present their lies as 'universal truth' in the hope of furthering their own agenda or biases.
Highway · 46-50, M
@Picklebobble2 so true. There is not even a truth or common sense anymore.. it seems

@Highway The Renaissance was a reborn interest in reasoned thinking and observation by folks daring to shake off the superstitions and fake news spewed by the Medieval church-state. I tend to see a return to the dark ages in behavior around me. That's my belief, ya can't argue me out of it ;-)
plungesponge · 41-45, M
The worst thing in my opinion is the way it's devalued human relationships. Everyone is disposable when new human interactions are just a click away.
Highway · 46-50, M
@plungesponge oh so true, that is a fact too i even read that in an article, the real reason of depression of internet age, no strong friendship connection, makes you feel unworthy.

not to mention the lack of physical activity because people would sit in front of their computer/iphones instead going outside everyone is fat

I see people being very cold, overly emotional and calculating. I wonder what the world will be like 20-50 years from now? Will we only talk to one another thru our smartphones, never leave home, eyes glued to our electronic gadgets? Makes me wonder.🤔
Highway · 46-50, M
@SW-User I think future is here 🤔

The 2nd worst thing about the Inertness: the page my browser suddenly jumped to before I could start reading here, saying "CONGRATULATIONS! You have been selected blah blah BS BS..."
Highway · 46-50, M
@WattdeFalk lol.. it drives me nuts too man, esp delayed uploading ads, thats the reason i guess
Dusty101 · F
I'd say when children are playing computer games and they get talking to another child playing the game also... but this isn't another child it's a horrible, dirty, grotty, revolting pedophile. That scares the heck out if me. Also sites that can actually brainwash people to do horrendous crimes.
Highway · 46-50, M
@Dusty101 yeah louis ck had a joke about it, that internet made pedos job so easy, in the old we even knew where their houses are and we stayed away their place.. Now they are in our pc
Trevo · 26-30, M
I mean, we're not over 30 but it doesn't keep us from understanding simple stuff lol
Highway · 46-50, M
@WattdeFalk humans adapt and survive yes.. But still, man you were baby boomers, but know these millennilas have the lowest child born rate ever in the history? Lol..
WattdeFalk · 70-79, M
@Highway Reminding me again of Mike Judge's movie "Idiocracy," y'know? Smarter people know about the population bomb, and then there are the Duggers...
Highway · 46-50, M
@WattdeFalk lol man I know.. but it is not about population bomb.. these kids just can't.. you know. side effects of too much internet porn.. lol

I think the worst thing the internet has done is to desensitize people to the suffering of other people which takes away the ability to develop empathy for your fellow man. The second worst thing the internet has done is impair the ability to interact with others in person. Heck ,most people cannot even have a real one to one, in person, conversation anymore without looking at their smart phone constantly, which of course means they are not really listening to the person they are conversing with in person.
Highway · 46-50, M
@SW-User we become more and more like robots. can't feel empathy.
SW-User
I would say Porn.. coz now my phone has bloody virus 😏

Awww he must be cute

Caramelwonder · 36-40, M
lack personal face to face connection
Highway · 46-50, M
i know.. like right here, we are pretending that we are actually talking now haha
Caramelwonder · 36-40, M
let's not forget that children can't spell they do it in text language I won't be shock if English writing and reading is dead in five to ten years because the computer/ cellphone does it for you
WattdeFalk · 70-79, M
@Caramelwonder Here's what a trained government official wrote me when I asked, "I got a temp driver license four weeks ago and was told you'll start processing my permanent replacement. What's happening?" The reply took my breath away:
Our records show you requested a temporary, we do not show that you requested a Valid with Previous Photo replacement you would have received a packet via email and would have had to send the documents back and would have had to pay a fee.
Caramelwonder · 36-40, M
@WattdeFalk see what i'm talking about my point exactly

people has taught people the worse thing.

their excuses are vast.

but the internet is a GIANT opportunity of wealth in knowledge.

i don't know a life before internet, look up the history. it goes quite a way back, waaaay back.

the ISP generation is what most are talking about when the battle was lost to keep the network away from the masses.

but, it was a good thing!
