What do you think of "Black Lives Matter"?

I think many people of colour are fearful and resentful of the police beyond what the statistics tell us. I think in some neighbourhoods there is almost an 'at war' mentality.
Of course causes like 'black lives matter' (who could disagree with that?) can be appropriated by people and organisations that are not so noble.
I think many people espouse these causes and brandish words like 'hate' while having little understanding of the underlying issues. It ends up more about serving their own egos and feeding anger- because if you are engaged in a righteous witch hunt you don't have to self reflect on what you can do to be a better person - or on less superficial but difficult to fix aspects of our society - such as economic exclusion.
In the end I agree with Oprah that to manifest change you need to have clear political goals.
