Yes, I've traveled to a couple of places where I was later invited for vacations, one was Morocco and the other the American Southwest. I never thought of going to Ourika Valley and had that dream and it was every bit the same as the real experience, down to walking the road alongside the shallow valley river and looking for rocks to bring back. Felt like Deja Vu.
@cherokeepatti [c=#BF0080] I do think you can enter not just alternate realities in dreams but also time periods. Its rally fascinatying![/c]

@CrystalSparkles I have no idea of how it works but remember flying on a plane in my dream going to some place I'd never been and hearing people speak French. That happened too because Morocco was colonized by the French and they still speak it there as a second language to communicate with Europeans who speak it and at the university level.

Oh yeah! All the time! For some reason, I have this recurring dream that I am scuba diving in Hawaii.

In a lucid dream or ordinary dream? I've never done it intentionally. Other things appeal to me more with that precious and limited dream control. Like flying through outerspace and gorgeous nebulas or talking to the unconscious or just sitting in the peaceful quiet of the snow. Oh. I still haven't turned into an animal, yet. I'm thinking wolf or eagle.
Oh. But, pausing time inside a dream might be worthwhile.
As for time travel in normal dreams, it's happened to me a few times. medieval era mostly, with knights and swords and stuff.

My dreams keep no track of time. None at all, but I always find myself in either huge mansions, open meadows, abandoned churches or luxurious castles
