Good grief, that's one of the worst cover versions I've ever heard in my life. It's so atrocious, I stopped the video after less than half a minute. It's enough to make anyone say "come back Westlife, all is forgiven".

@NankerPhelge ROLMFAO the best explanation ever the original wasn't even good XD just wanted to see if this was less of a train wreck apparently not! Hahahaha
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 The version you posted is definitely the musical equivalent of a train wreck. I've had greater pleasure listening to the sound of a cement mixer churning relentlessly (I used to work on one of those in the 1990s). The original "Milkshake" song may not be everybody's cup of tea, but at least it didn't pretend to be something it's not.

@NankerPhelge haha I worked in concrete and haha please enlighten me what someone is standing for by singing about milkshakes for fuck sakes XD
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 Can't you guess? It has a sexual connotation.
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge haha sexual! You don't say just when I thought it was a "fuck you" to Dairy Queen ROLMFAO!!!
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 Can't you guess what the word "milk" is referring to? I'd have recognised it if the song was a hit when I was 12, but it didn't exist until 30 years later. Lol :)
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge haha so when they say milk they mean like jizz?
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 Of course that's what it means. Lol :)
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge lmfao oh grody!!! Haha now that songs starting to make more sense XD it's all about getting laid!
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 Of course it is. Most songs of that genre are sexual in their lyrics. Lol :)
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge haha well I'll be damned! I just found out what they were really talking about in the catchy song "glad you came" I thought they were taking about a visit XD
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 I haven't heard that song before, but I just Googled it and saw the lyrics. That's definitely a sex song if ever there was one.

You cast a spell on me, spell on me
You hit me like the sky fell on me, fell on me
And I decided you look well on me, well on me
So let's go somewhere no-one else can see, you and me

If that's not about sex, I don't know what is. Lol :)
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge haha so I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack XD but listening to it they seem more innocent :p now if I read the lyrics first it may have seemed a lil fishy :p
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 I used to notice sexual references in songs when I was a schoolboy. Two I remember having in my own collection in those days were Slade's "Standing On The Corner" and Status Quo's "Mystery Song". Both those songs are singing about hookers. Lol :)
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge hahah really!!!! I found out the song black Betty isn't racist it's apparently about a car XD
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 I never took that song to be racist in the first place. The way I saw it, the word "black" in the title was neither complimentary nor derogatory, it was neutral as far as I'm concerned. I like the song though, I bought the single in 1977 when it was a hit (I was 15 then), and I bought the album it came from in 1983.
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge well these days everyone's offended easily :p so I take it your into a lot of 70's 80's music?
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 My what is into a lot of 70's 80's music?

As for me, I love the majority of 70s music (and most 60s music as well). 80s rock music was good but most 80s pop/chart music sucked big time.
Mcduck8982 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge haha yeah pop wrecked rock, I like quite riot twisted sister stuff like that, and love Floyd! Dark side of the moon was one of my favourites!
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Mcduck8982 I listened to a lot of Pink Floyd in the 80s, but they were an older band anyway. Bands like Twisted Sister and Quiet Riot were what the 80s could have been if it wasn't for that awful campy synth-pop that choked the charts that decade.
