Well, they're gonna, so you should get used to it. It's part of how they learn to differentiate their lives from yours.

@Dan193 well, I'd say (a) that sounds profoundly unhealthy, they need parental figures & a best friend isn't that; and (b) ppl keep secrets from even their best friends.
