How do you feel about people who keep "One-Upping"?

I mean "One-Upping" as someone, who in the middle of a controversial event, would try to be cynical in mentioning a hyped event people forgot about. Example: While everyone was worried about police brutality, what ever happened to the Flint Crisis?
