Should schools have dress codes?

No bc why are we teaching CHILDREN to be ashamed of their bodies?

nope... that's not really necessary... they should make some stick in logos but children should be allowed to wear what they want. school uniforms are quite expensive, jackets, shoes, jumpers, coats, PE staff plus ordinary clothes. can u calculate from primary school Up 2 uni. how much people spend on those poxy uniforms?.... children r growing one needs to replace school shoes every 2-3 months ..its really ridiculous, really stupid idea with all uniform business.

Yes, schools should have uniforms as they are a place for studying. Uniforms make economic differences between students less noticeable and let students concentrate on their academics more than clothes.

No there are several reasons why a uniform and dress codes are a good thing for school children. Personally though... None of my school's had uniforms or the like.

Is that what dresscodes are doing? Or are they providing a zone that equalizes everyone? I think there's alot of arguments for or against, but this is the first I've heard of body shaming.

As someone who had uniforms my whole life I can say for sure I'm not ashamed nor was I ever. Quite the opposite. The only thing I probably lack is any sort of energy to give much of a fuck what I wear 99% of the time now.

So you speak to conformity which goes against "teaching". I get that. But what about the poor children that can't wear the brand name clothes and are singled out for it. Point being? Nothing is black and white.
