I love that this question was asked by someone using the confederate flag as his profile picture

@Firespirit By that logic if I used a Swastika as my profile pic it wouldn't be offensive because i'm not german?
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@xCoinx The swastika is not a offensive symbol Its a symbol of peace and is all over Hindu temples. Its a culture thing

@Firespirit Very well because you're gonna as far out of your way not to take my point as you possibly can me using a black swastika symbol drawn inside a white circle that is in the middle of a red background wouldn't be offensive because I am not German

@xCoinx Flags can't hold opinions the motives of people are the issue

@Firespirit So when you told smiler2012 you agreed with his statement that "no discrimination in any form against any minority or any group is never acceptable in my book" your agreement only goes so far as you are willing to say that their sense of being discriminated against is one that you yourself agree with.
If they feel, say that a flag is a symbol of discrimination and you feel a flag is just a picture and is not in itself discriminatory then you don't think that form of discrimination counts.
What about words, words are just sounds right and if a symbol cannot be offensive then surely a word can't, so calling a black man a n**ger is totally fine right?

@xCoinx Its the context attached to said image The image itself is not the issue. How can a flag discriminate? and calling a black man a negro is fine in proper context such as a rape song. But I will say this the term "Nigger" is one of those words that would of died out if people did not but so much power into it. We give words there power

@Firespirit But you're not answering the question. When you told smiler2012 that you agreed with his statement that "no discrimination in any form against any minority or any group is never acceptable in my book" does your agreement only extend so far as you are willing to say that their sense of being discriminated against is one that you yourself agree with?

Yes I agree depends in context also It should be based on merits not on race or religion or such things
