The only time I'm not inherently terrified of darkness is when I'm half awake and falling/sprinting to my bathroom to pee in the middle of the night.
It is important to note that I'm only terrified of darkness inside of buildings. Natural darkness is wonderful.

@SW-User I feel somewhat the same way. Outside it could pitch black and I'm fine. It's only when I'm at home I get a bit sweaty.

Dude like I was making lunch for the week a while back and I had my indoor grill cooking some meat and I was doing some steamfresh vegetables in the microwave and had pasta on the stove. The main breaker tripped at the panel and All the lights went out too. There I was, In my kitchen with nothing to defend myself against inky darkness except a wooden spoon. I was not pleased.
