Why do people become more liberal when they get out of college/university?

They are better educated. There is a correlation between intelligence and liberal thinking. It takes more thought than giving into base fears.

@InterstellarTerror No, intelligence doesn't come from college, more or less just receiving the thought of being smarter. That degree makes you think you're more educated than everyone else.
