The wife and I took a ride over Skyline Drive national park in Virginia today.

Skyline Drive is in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. You get a beautiful view of the Shenandoah valley.

Unfortunately the section we ran out of time for in June. We hired an RV and went the complete length of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

@Stereoguy We had nearly two weeks all together, but we got the RV from Orlando so there was a bit of driving both ends of the trip. We stayed at various campgrounds along the way, although one night we couldn't find anywhere so parked up at a Walmart! We'd done the southern part of the Parkway previously but not the bit in Virginia.

Thanks! We had a great time. We have friends in Jefferson NC so we stopped there for the middle weekend. We'd do it again but in a smaller vehicle. We had a baby by your standards, at 22 foot, but it was a pig to drive and very thirsty. We saw quite a few smaller ones but all privately owned - we couldn't find any smaller ones for hire. We've often spoken about buying an RV but would need a bit more cash available than we have if we're to get anything better than a rust bucket! Walmart was fine - and free, with free wifi. No hookup of course but that didn't worry us for one night.
