How do you cut your lawn without a lawnmower?

Mine broke and I'm at a loss and the grass just keeps growing because I don't know what to do. Can't afford a new one at the moment.

Is the mower totally shot, or could it be repaired? You could rent one, but that would be about $25 each time, so rent a few times and you have the price of a used mower.

Check Craigslist for a good used mower, and see if there are any teens in your neighborhood who could mow it for you, which would likely be the same as a rental, but would save you having to go to/from the home improvement store/rental depot.

It may not be a bad idea to talk to the neighbors, to see if you could borrow one or pay someone to cut it, since I am sure they are not happy to see an unkept lawn.

A scythe is cheap, and if it's sharp can do a good job on tall grass, and you get a workout from it, but you probably need to be coordinated and careful when first using one.
