Why do people send me PM's with answers to my questions or post but don't comment on the post? What gives?

It happens often too - and it's not just one person

(I am referring to new people I've never interacted with, not existing and established friends)

@MrBlueGuy could be. I'm more shy about sending a pm and what that may come across as to the person receiving the pm than I am about replying to public posts.
