because we are thriving and growing in number in a very Harsh Universe , and apparently Life is Very Rare and the elements that support life as we know it in the Universe , and you can be Human and still not understand what life is really for , nevermind understanding others , but perhaps this is a clue , the Rarity of it all

I don't think humans are unique at all. Humans are suppose to have intelligence and the ability to learn, think, behave and act responsibly. From what I see going on in the world today, those in the animal kingdom are surpassing we humans. Maybe the animals can't read or write, but they are not threatening war, or lying, cheating or stealing from each other.
