It's a fact we all have to face and accept. My hope is that we either sleep peacefully for eternity or that we are reunited with our loved ones and experience everlasting life in peace.

@goneeee it would be interesting if we came into another world that we had to live in. i hope for both those ones as well but i read an interesting book about a story in a world where you live and if we die we go to a better world and if we die there we go further and one and on to we are in a magical place like most describe as heaven
goneeee · F
@popmol I have heard different versions myself from many people. Bottom line we have no idea what happens. Yet, we have that feeling that we will never die. Must be a reason for that besides the religious viewpoint, of going to heaven, living in heaven, etc. What if our souls after death become celestial bodies? And like you mentioned, maybe after death we can explore other worlds and see things we never imagined? If that was true, then dying would not be feared anymore. I like to think death is a new beginning.

@goneeee well yeah but i also think its reasonable to say we don't know all and thne be scared and to make up something but i still think if there was god he only created the big bang. for example we know that it might be possible that we live inside a black hole. or somethign like where did all the matter come from that caused the big bang. and yeah but some god that is high and mighty special for us. i don't think thats it.
it would be interesting indeed.
but i know the answer. the good fighters will go to asgard the others to hell where they will work for hella in her armies and we will al fight when its time for ragnorak and then our world will be reborn, ALL HAIL ODIN AND THOR
goneeee · F
@popmol Are you a descendant of Vikings...me too! I like that version even better. Hail Odin!
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee technically i'm not. what i'm very disappointed about :( but i can trace my heritage to the 1400 and i've always been from belgium. so it wasw close and we were celtics and others here we are the Vikings nephews from a less colder place :p
and we had the same gods with different names :p
i wish i was a descendent of Vikings though. but i've always love their culture.

and all these people talking about gods plan and stuff like that but he never does his job while odin said no more ice giants and see, no more ice giants :)
goneeee · F
@popmol Cool! Great point about Odin! The Vikings were everywhere and you just might have it in your DNA too. Are you a fan of the show the Vikings? I love that show and others about the Vikings too!
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee i haven't watched it since i do not watch much tV shows but its on my to watch list. and yeah maybe they went all over this side of europe so i might have a chance. if i have the money i was planning to do the ancestry test to see where my DNA comes from :) hope it states that i'm from northern countries.

i absolutely love to read books about viking and their mythology altho i'm a bit afraid of the promised day and the thing that can swallow our entire planet called the Midgard snake
goneeee · F
@popmol I hope you watch it. Its on Netflix and also on Hulu. I think you would be impressed! I would love to hear the results of your DNA test. My daughter went thru ancestry.com and it told us what we already knew, Scandinavian/northern European descent, (we're Swedish, Norwegian and Danish). You know way more about the Vikings than I do. I know very little, I don't read about it but should. Never heard about the Midgard snake. Yet I am proud of my heritage. I grew up with modern day Scandinavians where we ate Scandinavian food, values, family, etc. Mom was a full blooded Dane and always said, never piss off a Danish woman, (she had a fiery Viking temper)! lol
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee well i'll try :)
yeah i would love to know but its like 150 euro and that's pricey for an 18 year old.
well i absolutely love the culture so whenever i get the chance i'll learn about them.
yeah its a son of loki eating away the roots of the life tree where he is stuck. he wil ldie but will take Thor ( who is unlike the comics or movies) a redhead and needs 2 gloves to wield his hammer. and unlike those same movies and comics the god odin isn't so strong he is the wisest of the gods but thor is by far the strongest.
cool. how is it there now? i sometimes hear people saying they should abolish it with immigrants and they say they hate their viking inheritance and then i fell sad becasue i coudn't be one and they just say they hate it.

and i heard that phrase before about a danish woman :p i see an old woman throwing an axe at my head :p
goneeee · F
@popmol hahaha...yes Viking women are tough. My daughter paid $100 for her DNA testing. I think it should be way cheaper! I am in the USA, my great grandfather came from Sweden and my paternal great grandparents came from Norway and Denmark. Do you live in the USA or Europe? I have no idea how they feel about things over there, I just know how strong my mom spoke a lot about our Scandinavian ancestry. I have seen the movie Thor and character Loki in it. That's all I know about them. But Thor would be my favorite Viking!
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee aah yeah i found one.i live in belgium :) aah :)

well thor is actually a redhead , super strong. but the hammer is soo powerful he needs 2 special made gloves for it .
goneeee · F
You found somewhere to test your DNA?

Awesome, my daughter on her paternal side is Dutch. I didn't know Thor was a redhead but I have read red hair originates with the Scandinavians, altho their are no redheads in my family, just blondes, and brunettes. I didn't know Thor needs to separate gloves for his hammer. Learn something new everyday!
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee yeah apparently i looked wrong and its 100

yeah the Vikings were the only redheads in the world any redheads in the world (naturally) have Viking DNA
well blonde haired people also came from Europe. blonde meant wisdom in Viking culture so they even bleached their hair.

yeah the gloves were also made by the dwarves who made the hammer. they also made a golden bracelet and a ring i think and one of the was the ring of the golden boar, it summoned a golden boar that was one of the other young goddesses used to ride as far as i know.
goneeee · F
@popmol Well I'm glad its cheaper for you now!

I must be wise then. lol

Pretty cool info you dug up. I wished I would have been raised in those days with their traditions and beliefs. Or at least in one of their countries to really experience it.

I met a Swede a few years ago online and he even told me what you did earlier, that they do not like to boast of their heritage. Interesting but true. I didn't press him for more info. I think they are a bit tight lipped about some things. My dad was like that and so was his side of the family.
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee yeah :)

indeed miss :)

yeah i always feel sad how horrible the world was then doesn't matter but i've been born to late to the viking and knight era. and too early for space travel :(

well i'm proud of my European descendant and certainly for example the only village to no be controlled by Julius ceasar, he even said about the village that they coudn't take it :) so i'm proud to be of the same country
goneeee · F
@popmol I feel the same way too. That I was born in the wrong time and in my case, wrong country. I wish sometimes that my great and great great grandparents would have stayed in Europe. I've never been there to visit.

Wow you should be proud of your heritage. In America, our ancestors are from all over the world so its not like we originate from here, yet you are from there.Lucky you!
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee well you could always go on vacation there? i know a part of my family went to America while ago we don't know them and they are in America and Canada but we have the same back name.

well most of you came from europe :) well i feel lucky. in the future when i have my own house i'll invite you to visit with your family
goneeee · F
@popmol aww thank you, what a thrill that would be.🙂

I would imagine I have a ton of relatives in Europe. Problem is my great grandfather's last name was Johnson...too many of them to sift thru here or over there!🤔
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee and i can treat you to decent Belgian fries!

yeah i can imagine theres a lot of Johnson. did you ever meet an Eekman? or something close to it? thats the last name of the people who went to america from my family.
well you can try at least :)
goneeee · F
@popmol what is the difference between regular fries and Belgian fries? I love fries!

I never met an Eekman but had a friend who's last name was Eckman in high school.

Yes I could try looking it up. I have a lot of relatives scattered all over the USA that I don't know either.🤔
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee well yeah but we invented fries :p and your french fries are super small and thin. our ones are between that and the chips from fish and chips
maybe it changed a little bit :)

ooh that sounds troublesome
goneeee · F
@popmol I didn't know that! Are they big like steak fries in the USA?

Yes I come from huge families. 😕
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee from the photos i found yes :)

me too every year i go to a family camping trip with my mothers side. thats about 200 people and a whole part doesn't even come, if you count those it would be up too 250 or more and then also my dads side which has a lot since my grandmother had 12 brothers and sisters
goneeee · F
I love steak fries. What seasonings do you put on your fries?

Wow...people in those days had a lot of kids, didn't they? My mom had 5 and her mom had 8!
popmol · 22-25, M
@goneeee well my mother had 4 sister and brothers and my dad 2 but so much cousins.

well we put salt on it. and sometimes seasoning from the meat we eat with it but mostly the sauce is the cherry on top. from mayonnaise to tartar to whatever you can imagine
