Is it wrong to delete opposing views?

Not always. A poster has a right to expect fair treatment and consideration of the subject matter. If a respondent can only criticize or push their own preference then the poster is within his or her rights to remove the response. People never seem to understand this fine (polite) point.

p.s. someone removed this question before I could even respond.

I think that you should not delete. Give the users here the right to weigh up the opposing arguments and make their own decision. By deleting posts you are becoming judge, jury and executioner.

@Hanging2 I understand your position, but a post can very quickly reach that point where nobody tackles subject matter with honest endeavour. I don't like an unruly classroom.

@SW-User Teacher Complex. But isn't that the nature of an argument? I was not aware that there were a set of rules dictating where and argument could drift to or be constrained.
Let the freaks be exposed, the right wingers undermines, the political correct spread their wings. At the end of the day, how many people here will change their opinions based on what some says on SW.

Get the picture?

@SW-User I see your point and picture. By letting that stuff get viewed it exposes who they are. If you shut it down they become more insistent and attempt to undermine everything you say and do.

@Hanging2 Nobody is willing to wade through a ton of garbage when the next question awaits. And what about the topic? Should it be lost so that topic drifters can be theoretically exposed?
Hanging2 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Absolutely. You see the agendas and the intent of people that post here is more important to me then the topic or the question. I answer questions because of the insight it gives me to the people that ask the questions. The banter here case in point. Two views aligned but divergent. Only by being exposed to the full panatone of views can you test your moral compass, reflect grow and develop. The views here either challenge my thinking or confirm that my perspective is right for me. Even the dribble from some here fits the criteria.
Shutting down views no matter the diatribe limits the growth of opposing views and stifles human development.

@Hanging2 We have different standards. I want to see information imparted, and you want to see information about offenders imparted.
Hanging2 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Not at all. I want to see the true essence of people, good, bad, ugly and beautiful. We both actually have the same standards believe it or not. It is what we want to gain here that is different.
