Thanks for the responses, everyone.
All I can say is that I can't really blame her for prioritizing her family above a silly website on the internet. I must admit that I never will 100% understand how it feels to be in her shoes, because I for one have never found the whole '[b]get married, buy a house with a picket fence, have children and start a family[/b]' lifestyle appealing (which is why it is unlikely I will ever go that route).
However, when it comes to friendships and relationships outside of the internet, I understand that they deserve more of our attention than the people we meet online. In the end, everything said and done online is ephemeral bullshit, while family on the other hand is forever.
Regardless of the fact that I don't feel I really connected or got along all that well with her, I do wish her the best of everything.
