Why do people join this site demanding not to be contacted?

I thought most people come here seeking a place of expression, understanding and learning - maybe even some companionship. I don't really consider this a place of seclusion and isolation. But, I have been wrong before.

Joining a social site does not imply many or all.

Each joins for the interaction sought.

Some writers are here seeking select feedback.

Many are here to read and reflect ... not write and interact.

Few are here to interact and receive insults.

So ... I doubt expression, understanding and learning are even in the top 25 reasons.

And companionship, with a crowd ... not even sure the wife-sharers seek that one.
