Why do people join this site demanding not to be contacted?

I thought most people come here seeking a place of expression, understanding and learning - maybe even some companionship. I don't really consider this a place of seclusion and isolation. But, I have been wrong before.

Saying you don't want to be contacted is an easy way to let people down that you don't want to talk to under the disguise that youre not rejecting them - you're rejecting everyone

@Gemineye they're not rejecting everyone - but having that "don't want to be contacted" as a shield its super easy to reject people. A lot of guys take rejection very bad, having that there makes it easy

@louisecox97 How is not getting a reply to a PM you sent to someone you never encountered before rejection? Let alone painful? Some guys must have tissue for skin.
