How could anyone actually believe the Adam and eve story?

For one, if they were the very first people on earth, they would have been here almost a million years ago. There are human bones that have been found that are that old. Even if it was like 200,000 years ago, it still would be unbelievable that the story of them actually carried on through the cavemen and stuff. And why would it be against anything to eat a freaking apple, they are good for you. I'm sure food was scarce. I don't think God cares what we eat when it comes to fruit

I am an atheist, so do not believe any of it.

But the prohibition was not the apple. It was that the apple came from a sacred special tree whose fruit God did not want them to eat. I cannot recall which. One was the Tree of Life, or something, that gave eternal life, I think. The other was the Tree of Knowledge (of good and evil?), if I recall. I think the apple came from the latter.

Odd that God would not want humans to know stuff. Keep us all ignorant, and hence we are easier to control, right?

I am glad it is all a fairy tale.

I don't think the existence of God is a fairytale, it's just that humans have no idea what God really is or how it all works
