Referring to women as "young lady" is disrespectful imo

Why?
I usually say it to Be respectful.

I thought it was a compliment?

Context and tone.

"How are you doing, young lady? 😊"

"Young lady, I wouldn't do that if I were you."

I think it matters greatly what tone it's said in. It can be a sign of respect or it can be demeaning, depending on tone.
