Is there something you like to make/create or build??

What is it? If so, do you have any pics of it you'd like to share? Is it an expensive or cheap project/hobby?

I always loved granite pieces on tables and other places, but couldn't find what I was looking for. A few years ago I was searching for new coasters and couldn't find any I liked and started looking into making my own. The only idea I liked was using mosaic tiles, but I started thinking how big pieces would probably do what I wanted the granite to and at the same time be used as coasters. I loved the results.

The first two I made were brown and the others were a mix.. The last pic shows the one that took the most work. I designed it myself. I wasn't thinking when I bought the tile that it wouldn't fit- I figured I'd move them around a bit, but I couldn't. I ended up doing it piece by piece till I found something that fit and a style that I liked. What a pain in the a**, but in the end I think it came out the best. Pics don't even do it justice. It's an expensive hobby though 😒

@newtomountainlife those are all gorgeous.
I've always wanted to do that, but I can't have beautiful plants in my house.
Every time my mother in law comes over and comments on how pretty my plants are and then like 2-3 days later they die.
😡

I bought a beautiful orchid from a Costco for my twins memorial and I had it for 4 months new blooms kept coming in, it was big, beautiful and gorgeous.

She came and said "oh my son bought you a beautiful plant I've always wanted one like that" I said "we bought it for the babies memorial, it's not mine" then 2 days later it started dying 😭

The lady one I had from Costco lasted a year and it only died because I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and my kids over watered it.

I believe plants can sense love and emotion and when they sensed her envy they couldn't handle it. I know I sound like a lunatic but what ever lol my grandmother had a green thum and a huge garden I loved to help her with.

@newtomountainlife i just don't know her bad juju is messing with my plants. If she doesn't come over they're fine.
I had a long Pothos for about 8 years (since I moved into my apt) I grew it from a few clippings my brother gave me. It wrapped around the top of my living room (where the wall meets the ceiling) and when she started coming over at first she never said anything thinking it was artificial. Until she noticed it was real because it had gotten bigger.
Well her comments came again and bam a few days later it started dying.
I tried everything to sustain it but in the end it was nothing but the long vine without leaves. No new leaves would grow. Then the vine started dying too 😭
